Errands in the Rain. Oil on Board 16x20”
I painted this because it captures one of those quiet moments that only happen in Los Angeles when it rains. I was driving to the grocery store, following the same route I have taken countless times, when everything suddenly felt different. The familiar Ralphs sign, the palm trees, the buildings I barely notice on sunny days were softened by the gray sky and reflected on the wet pavement. The ordinary errand felt slower, more present, almost peaceful.
There was something comforting about it. Life was still moving, people were still going about their routines, but the rain made it feel more human. It reminded me that even the most ordinary places hold beauty when we pause long enough to see them. This painting is about that moment, when something as simple as running errands becomes something worth remembering.
