Ocean Pause 11x14" Oil on Board
I saw her sitting alone at the edge of the water, enjoying herself without needing anyone else around. She wasn’t swimming or walking—just sitting, facing the ocean, completely at ease. Something about her posture and stillness captured my attention. The light was falling gently on her back, and the warmth of the sand and the quiet rhythm of the waves seemed to hold her in that moment. It was simple, but it felt important.
I was drawn to paint her because she represented something we all search for—those brief pauses where nothing is expected of us. She wasn’t performing or posing. She was just being. This painting is my memory of that moment, when I noticed her and recognized the calm she had found. It reminded me how powerful it can be to stop, sit with the ocean, and allow yourself to exist fully in that quiet space.
