Palm Tree Road, oil on canvas, 24x24
I painted Palm Tree Road because this is a place I have driven by countless times, and it never stops capturing my attention. The old buildings carry a quiet dignity, standing as reminders of a different Los Angeles, while the palm trees rise tall and elegant beside them. Every time I pass through, I feel the same sense of admiration for how these elements coexist, the past and the present sharing the same space under that unmistakable California light.
What I love most is how familiar it feels. There is comfort in recognizing the curve of the road, the rhythm of the palms, and the way the light touches the tower in the late afternoon. It is not a dramatic place, but it does not need to be. It is steady, beautiful, and always there. Painting it was my way of honoring something that has quietly been part of my life, a scene that continues to welcome me every time I pass by.
