I painted this scene because it reminded me of one of my first experiences in Los Angeles, when I was still a tourist discovering the city. My husband had heard about Pink’s and insisted we go, saying it was something you had to experience. When we arrived, there was already a long line, people waiting patiently under the sun, as if this small corner held something important.
What stayed with me was not just the place, but the feeling. The pink building, the quiet anticipation, and the California light softening everything. It was simple, ordinary, and yet unforgettable. This painting is about those moments when you realize you are somewhere new, becoming part of a place that once felt distant, and slowly begins to feel familiar.
