Paola Luther is an award-winning fine artist who creates oil paintings that remind people of the beauty of being alive, the comfort of human connection, and the importance of slowing down.
Her work celebrates the moments that make life meaningful: an afternoon by the ocean, a familiar street, the warmth of being beside someone we love, the wonder of nature, or the simple pleasure of doing nothing at all. Through paintings of people, places, and the imaginative world of her teddy bears, Paola captures the everyday experiences that often become our most treasured memories.
In her newest body of work, teddy bears wander through peaceful landscapes, rest beneath trees, and discover the beauty of the world around them. Often painted small within their surroundings, they represent the tender, curious part of ourselves that remains with us throughout adulthood. These paintings are not simply about childhood, but about the joy of being present, the comfort of connection, and giving ourselves permission to rest.
Originally from Peru, Paola has spent more than twenty years developing her painting practice through dedicated studio work, workshops, independent study, and private instruction with professional artists. Her work has received numerous awards, and she has served as a curator, juror, art teacher, and mentor in art communities in Maryland and Southern California.
Her paintings have found homes with private collectors as well as in therapeutic and healthcare settings. Doctors, psychologists, and other professionals have been drawn to her work for its ability to bring warmth, comfort, and a sense of calm into spaces where people may need it most.
Beyond her studio practice, Paola has built an international art community reaching hundreds of thousands of people through social media, sharing and celebrating the work of artists from around the world.
As she grows older, Paola has become increasingly aware of how quickly life passes. Painting is her way of holding on to the moments that matter and reminding herself, and others, not to rush through the life we work so hard to create.
Her hope is that each painting becomes more than something beautiful on a wall. She imagines her work living with families for generations, becoming part of their homes, their stories, and the memories they create together.
